The Vienna Doctoral School of Theology and Research on Religion VDTR is one of Europe's largest interdisciplinary doctoral schools in the field of theologies and research on religion. It was founded in 2021 and offers its members an innovative, interdisciplinary and research-oriented doctoral education. From the very beginning of their training, VDTR doctoral students are part of a lively network of researchers in a broad, international spectrum of humanities, social science and theological disciplines.

In the QS-Ranking 2024, ‘Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies’ at the University of Vienna is ranked 21st worldwide, making it the second best subject within the university!
